The flow of heat from one place to another affects our lives in lots of ways, and yet most of us know very little about how heat works.

For instance, do you know the difference between heat and temperature? It is not difficult to explain, so once you have looked it up, go and ask your friends and relatives if they know the difference. They will be impressed by your intellegence!

Everyone knows that one of the best ways to keep warm is to wear a hat but do you know why so much heat is lost from the head?
