CANDLE WAX

Cleaning candlesticks is a difficult job, but my friend Anne Marie found a neat solution - just stick it in a hot oven and let the wax melt and run off.

Another method she suggested was to use boiling water instead.  Would this work?  If so, would you need much boiling water, or just a little?
