French road signs are placed at an angle, which can be confusing for recent arrivals in the country.  In this picture the direction for Toulouse is straight ahead, not to the right.  It is perhaps easier to see that the signpost is angled ahead because of the sun’s reflection in the signs, which is not the case for the signs pointing left.
